Streamlining Pharmaceutical Procurement in Ethiopia.
A founder-led digital pharmaceutical platform transforming how medicines move across Ethiopia.
Medichplus was founded by Yonas Abyou, a Bachelor of Pharmacy graduate from Addis Ababa university.
With over a year of experience in pharmaceutical marketing and hands-on exposure during internships, Yonas identified a major gap in Ethiopia’s healthcare system — inefficient, fragmented supply chains with limited digital coordination.
These experiences showed a clear opportunity: digitizing pharmaceutical procurement and distribution could significantly reduce delays, improve transparency, and help ensure medicines reach patients faster and more reliably.
This insight became the foundation of Medichplus.
When I studied Pharmacy and later gained experience in pharmaceutical marketing, I witnessed firsthand the challenges facing Ethiopia's pharmaceutical supply chain.
During my internships and professional work, I observed how fragmented processes, limited visibility, and manual coordination often created inefficiencies that affected healthcare providers and patients alike.
These experiences inspired the creation of Medichplus.
Our vision is to build a connected digital ecosystem where manufacturers, importers, wholesalers, hospitals, and pharmacies can collaborate more efficiently. By leveraging technology, we aim to improve transparency, streamline procurement, and contribute to a more reliable healthcare system.
